Content Management System - PHP Project

  • Thursday, July 19, 2012
  • Unknown
  • Description of the Project :-

Content management system is a system used to manage the content of a web site. Content management systems are deployed primarily for interactive use by a potentially large number of contributors. Content Management means web content Management.

The content managed in this application includes computer files, image media, audio files, electronic documents and web content. The theme behind a CMS is to make these files available inter-office, as well as over the web. A Content Management System would most often be used as an archive as well.

CMS would be used to store files in a non-proprietary form. This application can be used to share files with ease, as most systems use server-based software, even further broadening file availability. This application includes a feature for web content, and some have a feature for a workflow process.

This application facilities the organization, control, and publication of a large body of documents and other content, such as images and multimedia resources. A web content management system is a content management system with additional features to ease the task requires publishing web content to web sites.

A Content Management System (CMS) is a combination of large database, File System, and other related software modules which are used to store and later retrieve huge amounts of data. At the company level, Content management systems (CMS) store and manage an organizations electronic document and Web content so that the employee of the company can reuse the information across different applications. The core application of the CMS is to manage content during its entire lifecycle i.e. from creation through publishing. A CMS allows non-technical authors and editors to easily and quickly publish their content which is otherwise done by technical programmers. By using these facilities, the company can save the time for training, while facilitating more people to publish.

The Web Content Management System (Web CMS) is content management system software, implemented as a Web application, for creating and managing HTML content. It is used to manage and control a large, dynamic collection of Web material (HTML documents and their associated images). The Web CMS facilitates content creation, content control, editing, and many essential Web maintenance functions.

The software provides authoring tools designed to allow users with little or no knowledge of programming languages or markup languages to create and manage content with relative ease of use.

The systems use a database (MySql) to store content, metadata, and/or artifacts that might be needed by the system. Content is stored as XML, to facilitate reuse and enable flexible presentation options.]

The presentation layer displays the content to regular Web-site visitors based on a set of templates.

Administration is done through browser-based interfaces.

Unlike Web-site builders like Microsoft FrontPage or Adobe Dreamweaver, the Web CMS allows non-technical users to make changes to an existing website with little or no training.

The Web CMS can be developed using PHP and MySql

The most expensive component of any website is content maintenance. Keeping your site up-to-date is essential: A web site with stale content is useless to customers, dropped by search engines, and an all-around bad investment. But fresh, timely content means constant updates, and that’s expensive. Do you hire outside designers to make simple updates, or send your own staff to training courses? Both options are costly. Another, better answer is a Content Management System, or CMS. A well-implemented CMS lets you control your site’s content, without learning HTML. But these systems come in many shapes and sizes. What is a CMS? What type of CMS do you need? How much should it cost? In this article, I’m going to try to shed some light on what has become a very, very crowded field, and provide you with guidelines for selecting — and making the most of — a CMS. First, you need to understand what a CMS does, and what it can do for your organization. What Is a CMS? Software does not a CMS make. There’s a lot more to a successful CMS than a CD-ROM and a few thousand lines of code. Then what is a Content Management System? A piece of software you buy, just like a word processor? A combination of software and hardware? In the real world, a CMS is a combination of three things:

PHP, or PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor, is a widely used, general-purpose scripting language that was originally designed for web development, to produce dynamic web pages. PHP is the widely-used, free, and efficient alternative to competitors such as Microsoft's ASP. All types of open source PHP code and applications are available on Open Source Scripts.

The XML files are stored on a central server, and can be reached with a SVN client. There are many SVN clients you can use, although we recommend one command line tool or a proven WYSIWYG tool.

You will need more programs and tools to manipulate the XML files and test their content for errors. The tools you need depend on the operating system you use. Linux or some sort of Unix is recommended, although many things in phpdoc work on Windows. You will find more information about the tools you need in the tools section.

    MySQL is a database.
The data in MySQL is stored in database objects called tables.

A table is a collection of related data entries and it consists of columns and rows.

Databases are useful when storing data into server. A company may have a database with the following tables: "Employees", "Products", "Customers" and "Orders".

Basic object-oriented programming functionality was added in PHP 3 and improved in PHP 4. Object handling was completely rewritten for PHP 5, expanding the feature set and enhancing performance. In previous versions of PHP, objects were handled like value types. The drawback of this method was that the whole object was copied when a variable was assigned or passed as a parameter to a method. In the new approach, objects are referenced by handle, and not by value. PHP 5 introduced private and protected member variables and methods, along with abstract classes and final classes as well as abstract methods and final methods. It also introduced a standard way of declaring constructors and destructors, similar to that of other object-oriented languages such as C++, and a standard exception handling model. Furthermore, PHP 5 added interfaces and allowed for multiple interfaces to be implemented. There are special interfaces that allow objects to interact with the runtime system. Objects implementing ArrayAccess can be used with array syntax and objects implementing Iterator or IteratorAggregate can be used with the foreach language construct. There is no virtual table feature in the engine, so static variables are bound with a name instead of a reference at compile time.

    Beehive Forum - PHP Project

  • Unknown
  • Description of the Project :-

Many businesses today recognize that the knowledge of their team is one of their most valuable assets. But capturing and tapping that knowledge for the future remains a challenge.

Team members don't have time to meet face-to-face. And valuable electronic communication between employees is lost on desktops and e-mail inboxes and cannot be accessed or shared for relevant situations.

Online Discussion Forums solve these challenges and offer new opportunities for knowledge management across your company. The online discussion forums provide a centralized brainstorming area for ideas, information, resources, and feedback on critical business decisions.

Unlike a physical meeting, team members can contribute online communication as their schedule allows. And unlike email, the information is labeled, categorized, and stored for future business use.

With ODF you can navigate through the forum postings and tap the ideas to make faster, better, and more informed decisions.

Discussion forums are one of the 10 key features which also includes Web-based business class email, online document management, and online calendars

Online Discussion Forum is just line any another discussion forum found in most of the websites online with an additional unique elegant look & feel and extended functionality. The idea of forum has been adapted from lots of forum in many websites. Truly speaking this is an enhanced or improved version of the ASP only version. The good features of all these forums are incorporated in to this Online Discussion Forum to make it really an online solution for all forum needs. ODF supports all the common features of any standard forum like posting a message, grouping the messages, replying to existing message, multiple discussion rooms, etc.,

E-forum is discussion software allows people from within a corporation to exchange work and ideas. Included in the software are links to other intranet resources, so that from within a discussion, people can link out to a Web page on the Internet or intranet, or can even link into intranet databases. Forum software packages are widely available on the Internet. One significant difference between forums and electronic mailing lists is that mailing lists automatically deliver new messages to the subscriber, while forums require the member to visit the website and check for new posts. Because members may miss replies in threads they are interested in, many modern forums offer an "e-mail notification" feature, whereby members can choose to be notified of new posts in a thread, and web feeds that allow members to see a summary of the new posts using aggregator software. The main difference between newsgroups and forums is that additional software, a newsreader, is required to participate in newsgroups. Visiting and participating in forums normally requires no additional software beyond the web browser.

  • Description of the Project :-

As the name specifies "HOSTEL MANAGEMENT" is a software developed for managing various activities in the hostel.

For the past few years the number of educational institutions are increasing rapidly. Thereby the number of hostels are also increasing for the accommodation of the students studying in this institution. And hence there is a lot of strain on the person who are running the hostel and software's are not usually used in this context.

This particular project deals with the problems on managing a hostel and avoids the problems which occur when carried manually Identification of the drawbacks of the existing system leads to the designing of computerised system that will be compatible to the existing system with the system which is more user friendly and more GUI oriented. We can improve the efficiency of the system, thus overcome the drawbacks of the existing system.

This consist of the different pop-up menus showing the details of the different hostels

It contain a link to the CUSAT official web-site.

It allows the different users to access the registration forms.

He can view the Student administration division of the different hostels and also view the notice boards.

    Registration Form

This section provides an online form to the students which can be filled by them, and a copy of the filled page can be taken in the printed form. This is later submitted to the Hostel authorities which can be verified by them before alotting them to the respective hostels.

    Admin Panel

    Administrator Login

    Home

    The Administrator can:

Allot different students to the different hostels.

Vacate the students for the hostels.

Control the status of the fee payement.

Edit the details of the students & modify the student records.

    Allotment of the hostels

Their will be pre-defined criterias for the admission to the hostels. He checks the attested application forms of the students obtained from the internet and varify it with the student database. If the students are found eligible then they are allotted to the hostel.

    Vacating the rooms

As the student’s course is over they will vacate their rooms. So it is required for the administrator to remove their records from the database tables. This section includes the option for the room vacation and the deletion of the particular record from the database.

PHP is a scripting language originally designed for producing dynamic web pages. It has evolved to include a command line interface capability and can be used in standalone graphical applications. While PHP was originally created by Rasmus Lerdorf in 1995, the main implementation of PHP is now produced by The PHP Group and serves as the de facto standard for PHP as there is no formal specification. PHP is free software released under the PHP License, however it is incompatible with the GNU General Public License

(GPL), due to restrictions on the usage of the term PHP. It is a widely-used general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for web development and can be embedded into HTML. It generally runs on a web server, taking PHP code as its input and creating web pages as output. It can be deployed on most web servers and on almost every operating system and platform free of charge. PHP is installed on more than 20 million websites and 1 million web servers. PHP originally stood for Personal Home Page. It began in 1994 as a set of Common Gateway Interface binaries written in the C programming language by the Danish/Greenlandic programmer Rasmus Lerdorf. Lerdorf initially created these Personal Home Page Tools to replace a small set of Perl scripts he had been using to maintain his personal homepage. The tools were used to perform tasks such as displaying his résumé and recording how much traffic his page was receiving. He combined these binaries with his Form Interpreter to create PHP/FI, which had more functionality. PHP/FI included a larger implementation for the C programming language and could communicate with databases, enabling the building of simple, dynamic web applications. Lerdorf released PHP publicly on June 8, 1995 to accelerate bug location and improve the code.

This release was named PHP version 2 and already had the basic functionality that PHP has today. This included Perl-like variables, form handling, and the ability to embed HTML. The syntax was similar to Perl but was more limited, simpler, and less consistent. Zeev Suraski and Andi Gutmans, two Israeli developers at the Technion IIT, rewrote the parser in 1997 and formed the base of PHP 3, changing the language’s name to the recursive initialism PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor. The development team officially released PHP/FI 2 in November 1997 after months of beta testing. Afterwards, public testing of PHP 3 began, and the official launch came in June 1998. Suraski and Gutmans then started a new rewrite of PHP’s core, producing the Zend Engine in 1999. They also founded Zend Technologies in Ramat Gan, Israel. On May 22, 2000, PHP 4, powered by the Zend Engine 1.0, was released. On July 13, 2004, PHP was released, powered by the new Zend Engine II. PHP 5 included new features such as improved support for object-oriented programming, the PHP Data Objects extension (which defines a lightweight and consistent interface for accessing databases), and numerous performance enhancements. The most recent update released by The PHP Group is for the older PHP version 4 code branch. In 2008, PHP 5 became the only stable version under development. Late static binding has been missing from PHP and will be added in version 5.3. PHP 6 is under development alongside PHP 5. Major changes include the removal of register_globals, magic quotes, and safe mode. The reason for the removals was because register_globals had given way to security holes, and magic quotes had an unpredictable nature, and was best avoided. Instead, to escape characters, Magic quotes may be substituted with the addslashes() function, or more appropriately an escape mechanism specific to the database vendor itself like mysql_real_escape_string() for MySQL. PHP does not have complete native support for Unicode or multibyte strings; Unicode support will be included in PHP 6. Many high profile open source projects ceased to support PHP 4 in new code as of February 5, 2008, due to the GoPHP5 initiative, provided by a consortium of PHP developers promoting the transition from PHP 4 to PHP 5. It runs in both 32-bit and 64-bit environments, but on Windows the only official distribution is 32-bit, requiring Windows 32-bit compatibility mode to be enabled while using IIS in a 64-bit Windows environment. There is a third-party distribution available for 64-bit Windows.

PHP is a general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for web development. PHP generally runs on a web server, taking PHP code as its input and creating web pages as output. It can also be used for command-line scripting and client-side GUI applications. PHP can be deployed on most web servers, many operating systems and platforms, and can be used with many relational database management systems. It is available free of charge, and the PHP Group provides the complete source code for users to build, customize and extend for their own use.

PHP primarily acts as a filter, taking input from a file or stream containing text and/or PHP instructions and outputs another stream of data; most commonly the output will be HTML. It can automatically detect the language of the user. From PHP 4, the PHP parser compiles input to produce bytecode for processing by the Zend Engine, giving improved performance over its interpreter predecessor. Originally designed to create dynamic web pages, PHP’s principal focus is server-side scripting, and it is similar to other server-side scripting languages that provide dynamic content from a web server to a client, such as Microsoft’s Active Server Pages, Sun Microsystems’ JavaServer Pages, and mod_perl. PHP has also attracted the development of many frameworks that provide building blocks and a design structure to promote rapid application development (RAD). Some of these include CakePHP, Symfony, CodeIgniter, and Zend Framework, offering features similar to other web application frameworks. The LAMP architecture has become popular in the web industry as a way of deploying web applications. PHP is commonly used as the P in this bundle alongside Linux, Apache and MySQL, although the P may also refer to Python or Perl. As of April 2007, over 20 million Internet domains were hosted on servers with PHP installed, and PHP was recorded as the most popular Apache module. Significant websites are written in PHP including the userfacing portion of Facebook, Wikipedia (MediaWiki), Yahoo!, MyYearbook, , Digg, Wordpress and Tagged. In addition to server-side scripting, PHP can be used to create stand-alone, compiled applications and libraries, it can be used for shell scripting, and the PHP binaries can be called from the command line.

As with many scripting languages, PHP scripts are normally kept as human-readable source code, even on production web servers. In this case, PHP scripts will be compiled at runtime by the PHP engine, which increases their execution time. PHP scripts are able to be compiled before runtime using PHP compilers as with other programming languages such as C (the language PHP and its extensions are written in). Code optimizers aim to reduce the computational complexity of the compiled code by reducing its size and making other changes that can reduce the execution time with the overall goal of improving performance. The nature of the PHP compiler is such that there are often opportunities for code optimization, and an example of a code optimizer is the Zend Optimizer PHP extension. Another approach for reducing overhead for high load PHP servers is using PHP accelerators. These can offer significant performance gains by caching the compiled form of a PHP script in shared memory to avoid the overhead of parsing and compiling the code every time the script runs.

  • Ticket Reservation - PHP Project
    Description of the Project :-

This RAILWAY RESERVATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM should be able to manage all the reservation related functions. The system should be distributed in nature. This system is divided into five zones.

    NORTH ZONE

    SOUTH ZONE

    EAST ZONE

    WEST ZONE

    CENTRAL ZONE

Each zone should have same functionalities. Each zone will stores the information about train name, train schedules, availability. The administrator should be able to enter any change related to the train information like change in train name, number etc.

The system should be able to reserve seat in a train for a passenger. First the clerk will check for availability for the seats in a particular train on a specified date of journey. If it is available the clerk will reserve seats. The passenger will be given a unique PNR no.

The system should be able to cancel a reservation. The clerk will delete the entries in the system.

The passenger can check their reservation status online by entering their PNR no. The system will display his current status like confirmed, RAC or waiting list. They are also able to see information related to the train schedules.

The system should be able to print the report like it should be able to generate reservation chart, train report, reservation ticket which will have train no and name, date of journey, boarding station, destination station, person name, age, [censored], total fare and a unique PNR no. The system should be able to print the cancellation ticket which will have total fare and the amount deducted.

The main aim of the project was to develop a website which would facilitate the reservation of online air tickets through an effective and yet simple GUI for a normal passenger intending to travel in airways. Apart from reserving tickets, through our system a passenger can compare online fares ‘from’ various cities ‘to’ various cities.

    INTENDED AUDIENCE

    1. The project is basically targeted at those people who would like to travel through air and have an Internet access. 2. As we will be making our site WAP – enabled, this will facilitate our site to accept requests from other alternative devices like PDA’s and WAP-enabled browsers. Apart from the above category of audience, passengers using hand-held devices will be our second major category of audience.

Finally passengers curious in comparing the prices for various Airlines for their selected source and destination cities form our third category of audience.

    COOL FEATURES OF OUR SITE:

    Dynamic Bandwidth Calculation
    :

We dynamically calculate the user’s bandwidth and redirect him to either to the Graphical Version or to the Text-Version based on the client’s bandwidth.

    Sitemap:

We are providing a cool map of our entire site for easy access of our pages. Sitemap includes all the links in all the pages in our site categorized based on the functionality of the pages.

    Flash Images of Flights:

We created flight detail images and used Flash to integrate them and show the user the seating arrangement of the flight. The user can know about the details of the seating arrangement, emergency exit doors and lavatory details before entering the flight.

    Airport Layouts:

We are showing the airport layouts so that the user can know the airline counter details prior to his arrival at the airport. He can directly go to the counter concerned to collect his travel tickets.

    Points Based System:

We are giving discounts to the regular customers shopping on our site based on points he achieved. One percent of discount is given on present transaction for each $1000 previous transaction amount with a maximum of 20 percent. This will attract regular travelers to use our site instead of others.

    TECHNOLOGIES USED.
Following are the core technologies used in developing our website.

    Server Technologies:

Traveling is a large growing business in India and other countries. Bus reservation system deals with maintenance of records of details of each passenger who had reserved a seat for a journey. It also includes maintenance of information like schedule and details of each bus.

We observed the working of the Bus reservation system and after going through it, we get to know that there are many operations, which they have to do manually. It takes a lot of time and causes many errors. Due to this, sometimes a lot of problems occur and they were facing many disputes with customers. To solve the above problem, and further maintaining records of items, seat availability for customers, price of per seat, bill generation and other things, we are offering this proposal of reservation system.

By using this software, we can reserve tickets from any part of the world, through telephone lines, via internet. This project provides and checks all sorts of constraints so that user does give only useful data and thus validation is done in an effective way.

    INTRODUCTION

Our project is to computerize traveling company to manage data, so that all the transactions become fast and there should not be any error in transaction like calculation mistake, bill generation and other things. It replaces all the paper work. It keeps records of all bills also, giving to ensure 100% successful implementation of the computerized Bus reservation system. Our reservation system has three modules. First module helps the customer to enquire the availability of seats in a particular bus at particular date. Second module helps him to reserve a ticket. Using third module he can cancel a reserved ticket.

  • Intelligent Online Tutoring System - PHP Project
    Description of the Project :-

An Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) comes as a result of the application of the artificial intelligence in the field of education. the concept of ITS is briefly introduced in this article. The modules and structures in the ITS is also detailed.

An intelligent tutoring system (ITS) is any computer system that provides direct customized instruction or feedback to students. the theory of learning by doing is implemented by the ITS. a range of different technologies maybe employed by the ITS to achieve its functionality.

    structure of an ITS system

The four different subsystems or modules of the ITS are: the interface module

provides the means for the student to interact with the ITS and usually includes a GUI feature.

    The expert module

It consists of a description of the knowledge or behaviors that represent expertise in the subject-matter domain the ITS is teaching

    The student module,

This module consists of descriptions of student knowledge or behaviors, misconceptions and the knowledge gaps.

    The tutor module.

A mismatch between a student's behavior or knowledge and the expert's presumed behavior or knowledge is fed to this module which then takes the corrective action such as remedial teaching etc.

ITS is always the core content of artificial intelligence in education (AIED). The different tutor models con be adopted based on the student behaviour. To replace the human teachers and to achieve the best teaching by letting the computer system be the guide and helper is the ultimate aim of the ITS systems.

  • Email Program - PHP Project
    Description of the Project :-

Email system is expected to achieve following objectives:

    i) Composition of the new emails.

    ii) Sending an email

    iii) Receiving an email.

iv) Saving an email in the form of the drafts.

    v) Maintaining the contact list.

vi) Showing the details of the received mails such as IP address etc

    PROJECT OBJECTIVE

New Technologies if used innovatively can help in bridging technological, knowledge and income divides. Advances in technologies have driven the last decade's economic boom and the integration of markets around the planet. The internet has further accelerated the speed of development and led to the creation of knowledge societies and need of more innovative websites.

E-mail system is a web application which enables a user to exchange the information in form of the mails . Here, a person will be able to make his account , which is necessary to exchange the information, and then sign in to his account for the composition of a new email, sending an email, receiving the mails, saving in form of the drafts and viewing the already received mails .

    MOTIVATION

The gmail and yahoo mail have been my source of inspiration to make this kind of project . and I would like to work on it sincerely so as to develop it properly and implement it on my website

    Brief Overview of technologies:

    Front End:

    1. HTML

It is the program that one uses to create and save HTML documents. E.g. Notepad

    2. Ajax

Ajax is termed as Asynchronous JavaScript and XML. AJAX is a technique for creating fast

and dynamic web pages. AJAX allows web pages to be updated asynchronously by exchanging

small amounts of data with the server behind the scenes.

    Back End:

    3. MySql

MySql is a database widely used for accessing querying, updating, and managing data in databases.

    4. PHP

Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) is a technology that allows software developers to create dynamically generated web pages, with HTML, XML, or other document types, in response to a Web client request. PHP is an open source software.

The main objective of the project is to establish a network among the people residing in all over the world. All the information can be easily accessed and shared among the people.

    INTRODUCTION

The main goal of the service is to make your social life and that of your friends, more active and stimulating. Social network can help you both maintain existing relationships and establish new one s by reaching out of people you have never met before. Before getting to know a forever member, you can even see how they are connecting you through the friend’s network.

This software is provided as an online only resource so that it may be continually extended and updated.

In the early days of the web, in 1994 and 1995, several people were working on enabling email to be accessed on a web browser. In Europe, Soren Vejrum and Luca Manunza released their "WWW Mail" and "WebMail" applications, whereas in the United States, Matt Mankins wrote "Webex".

The term Webmail (or Web-based e-mail) is used to describe two things.

    1. To describe a Webmail client: an email client implemented as a web application accessed via a web browser.

    2. To describe a email service offered through a web site (a webmail provider) such as Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, and AOL Mail;. Practically every webmail provider offers email access using a webmail client, and many of them also offer email access by a desktop email client using standard email protocols, while many internet service providers provide a webmail client as part of the email service included in their internet service package.

    PURPOSE

The purpose of this software is to completely automate the following

    processes:

    • This system provides users to register their various types of profile like social, personal, general, professional.

    • This system provides users to send a scrap message, images, and data files to their friends. User can maintain the scrap book whatever scraps he has send to users.

    • The system provides user to upload the photos so that user can maintain own album.

    • This system provides user to join the communities according to their scenario.

    • This system provides the user to maintain their friend list and user can update their friend list.

    • This system provides user to send invitation to another friend and can add to their friend list for future.

    UNDERSTANDING OF THE EXISTING SYSTEM

This program can send emails to any address. This program has nice GUI with animation. You have to Change the server name in the coding depending upon the server name yu ar using. For any question send me email at jasbir90@hotmail.com Please vote for me. thank you.

    Installation

    ===============

    Requirements

    ================

You need web hosting which provides:

    - PHP 4.1.0 or above (tested on 4.1.x, 4.2.x, 4.3.x and 5.0.0) and

    - MySQL 3.5 or above (must support compound AUTO_INCREMENT).

    WHAT IS EMAIL SERVICE SYSTEM

As in many MNCâ„¢s Microsoft Office Outlook is used to send emails, email management for DNS used in different organizations either same or different. It is responsible for sending the mail from either the employees or the clients to the main server which uses the working of (SMTP) Simple mail Transfer Protocol. The mail then reaches the server and checks whether has to be sent to an address of different DNS or the same. If different then it makes a use of protocols like POP3 or IMAP. All is managed by Microsoft Outlook in windows and for handling the similar situation in LINUX/UNIX operating systems with the help of a tool known as Email Service System.

Email Service system is a lightweight, completely command line based, SMTP email agent. If you have the need to send email from the command line, this tool is perfect. It was designed to be used in linux, but it is also quite useful in many other contexts. Code is written in Perl and is unique in that it requires no special modules. It has a very simple interface, making it very easy to use. It can work on linux OS as well as on a Microsoft OS but you may need to put a .pl extension on filename so Windows will know to associate it with perl. It can be used to send attachments as well as normal mails to multiple users through carbon copies or blind carbon copies as well and hence is easy to manage as well.

Like other mail systems mails are being saved in log files within the system. Sent and received mails will be in different files. When we create a user then automatically the sent item file will be created and when we receive mail then the inbox file created named as mbox. We can create as many users as we want and also send mail to number of users at the time. In our project we are using keywords like for to , for subject , for message body and for attachment. And thus we can send mail using appropriate option in a successful manner. Also we can send mails to different DNS like yahoo if our DNS of our system is registered.

    CONCLUSION

In the end we can conclude that due to our project Email Service System the task of sending mail or transfering data through mail will be quite easy. A process which is hard to do in linux will be easy. In linux if we want to send mail then it is little hard to do this work through command, firstly you should learn all the commands and then use it. But in our project when we run it firstly all options are available and you just see the option and send mail easily. If we give a wrong option then it will give you proper warning, so we can correct ourself. So we can say that it is quite feasible to the company if they are use linux as operating system and also want a proper mail system like Microsoft outlook will be used in windows.

It is reliable as a copy of each and every mail whether sent or received is being saved. It is also secure as only existing users can receive mails and also reply back. Also user passwords are given for SMTP authentication therefore its safe enough.

On the basis of its feasibility study we are able to conclude the following sub-points:

ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY: It is economically feasilble.

TECHNICAL FEASIBILITY: It is also technically feasible , because it requires less storage space, less of hardware device and less processing power.

SOCIAL FEASIBILITY: It is a simple tool and easily executable so everyone can use it.

      FUTURE WORK

In future we will try to convert it in completely graphical mode. All the options like send, reply, forward, attachment etc will be in graphical mode. Buttons would be available for users to just press and the work which would be easy to work for any laymen user who is not a professional user. There will be no need to remember commands like ˜“t™ used for ˜to™ option or ˜-u™ for ˜subject™ to receiver. You can use it like you are using your general mail systems like yahoo or gmail. And it will make your work completely effortless.

Computerized Internal Evaluation test - PHP Project

  • Tuesday, June 12, 2012

  • Computerized Internal Evaluation test - PHP Project
    Description of the Project :-

This Web Application provides facility to conduct online examination world wide.

. It saves time as it allows number of students to give the exam at a time and displays the results as the test gets over, so no need to wait for the result. It is automatically generated by the server.

. Administrator has a privilege to create, modify and delete the test papers and its particular questions.

. User can register, login and give the test with his specific id, and can see the results as well.

What are the user’s demonstrable needs?

User needs a web-based system, which will remove all the above-mentioned Problems that, the user is facing. The user wants a web-based system, which will reduce the bulk of paperwork, provide ease of work, flexibility, fast record finding, modifying, adding, removing and generating the reports.

How can the problem be redefined?

We proposed our perception of the system, in accordance with the problems of existing system by making a full layout of the system on paper. We tallied the problems and needs by existing system and requirements. We were further updating in the layout in the basis of redefined the problems. In feasibility study phase we had undergone through various steps, which are described as under:

How feasible is the system proposed? This was analyzed by comparing the following factors with both the existing system and proposed system.

The cost required in the proposed system is comparatively less to the existing system.

Compared to the existing system the proposed system will provide a better working environment in which their will be ease of work and the effort required will be comparatively less than the existing system.

    Time

Also the time required generating a report or for doing any other work will be comparatively very less than in the existing system. Record finding and updating will take less time than the existing system.

    Labor

In the existing system the number of staff required for completing the work is more while the new system will require quite less number of staff.

    Specification Report

    System Interface

Application would be a self-contained system. It will not access data of any other application nor will other application have access to its data.

User Interface Application will be accessed thr

ough a Browser Interface. The interface would be viewed best using 1024 x 768 and 800 x 600 pixels resolution setting. The software would be fully compatible with Microsoft Internet Explorer for version 6 and above. No user would be able The system should be accessed over LAN or WAN. For Clients to access application server the network should be running TCP/IP protocol.

    Operations

    Client Side

Interactive operations using options provided in the application, Example Data Entry generation and viewing of reports.

    Server Side

Database backup should be taken every day. In case of data base crash, last backup should be restored.

    User Characteristics

The end user of the software can be divided into two categories Administrator: Access to master forms for the purpose of data entry and generation of reports.

Operator: Access to his corresponding records and giving examination only.

The first problem is that there are loads of hard copied documents being generated. This brings us to the age-old discussion of keeping information in the form databases versus keeping the same on sheets of paper. Keeping the information in the form of hard-copied documents leads to the following problems:

    I. Lack of space – It becomes a problem in itself to find space to keep the sheets of paper being generated as a result of the ongoing discussion. The documents being generated are too important to be ill-treated.

    ii. Filing poses a problem
    – Filing the documents categorically is a time consuming and tedious exercise.

    iii. Filtering is not easy
    – It becomes hard to filter relevant documents for the irrelevant ones if the count of the same crosses a certain manageable number.

    iv. Reviewing becomes time-consuming –

All the process done manually at the centers and all the records are maintained on the papers. So the maintenance of the record is very difficult in the departments and as well as it’s very difficult for the workers to check the record. The Existing system is paper based, time consuming, monotonous, less flexible and provides a very hectic working schedule. The chance of loss of records is high and also record searching is difficult. Maintenance of the system is also very difficult and takes lot of time.

    v. Result Processing is slow due to paper work and requirement of staff.

Conclusion This Web Application provides facility to conduct online examination world wide. It saves time as it allows number of students to give the exam at a time and displays the results as the test gets over, so no need to wait for the result. It is automatically generated by the server.

Administrator has a privilege to create, modify and delete the test papers and its particular questions. User can register, login and give the test with his specific id, and can see the results as well.

  • Open Multi-User Blog - PHP Project

    Description of the project :-

    The PHP Documentation Framework:-

The PHP documentation is written in XML using the DocBook DTD. If you would like to contribute to the PHP documentation project, you need to at least know the very basics of XML and DocBook.

  • Description of  the  project:-

Online grading system greatly helps to those who currently developing an online online grading system

    INTRODUCTION TO ONLINE EXAMINATION SYSTEM

This project titled ONLINE EXAMINATION SYSTEM is designed using HTML for Client Side and PHP for Server Side which helps in understanding different technologies. These exams covers almost all the concepts of technologies such as C, C++, C#, DOTNET, Java, SQL, Oracle such that it would be helpful for the users.

This project also makes the users to check what they have learnt by these solutions by displaying it on the solutions blog such that user can come to know their mistakes without any hard work by just knowing various technologies. The source code is very simple to understand. The person with basic knowledge in HTML as well as PHP can understand the coding easily and can make necessary changes as per the requirements.

works for small tables, but once the tables grow larger than 300,000 records or so this will be very slow because MySQL will have to process ALL the entries from the table, order them randomly and then return the first row of the ordered result, and this sorting takes long time. Instead you can do it like this
